Meg Tuthill – City Council, Minneapolis Ward 10
Meg Tuthill for 10th Ward City Council!
In November, Meg Tuthill – longtime 10th Ward homeowner, small businesswoman, community activist, and DFL supporter – declared her candidacy for the Minneapolis City Council. In her announcement, Tuthill said that, as Council Member, she would “engage citizens in a dialogue about the city so we can work together to produce the best ideas for our community.”
Deep roots in the 10th Ward
Meg and her husband Dennis have lived in Minneapolis for nearly 40 years. They raised three children and sent them to Minneapolis public schools. The Tuthills have run their family business – Tuthill’s Balloon Emporium, a neighborhood fixture at 25th and Hennepin – for 30 years. At her business,
she has focused on customer service, experience that will be invaluable in serving the residents of the 10th Ward.
Community activist
Meg Tuthill was a community activist long before that was hip. She has served as founding member of her neighborhood association, zoning advocate, recycling pioneer, school volunteer, police-citizens committee member, park volunteer, and Girl Scout leader. Tuthill has been a delegate to many DFL conventions and has volunteered on the campaigns of countless DFL candidates.
